No One Goes

Lyrics: Craig Harrower

Alone I viewed a man
Who was struggling to be heard
Above the noisy crowd
That jeered at him because he cared
His voice was emancipation
But their ears were deaf to sound
So they knocked him off his platform
And they stamped him to the ground
And they were singing -

"No one goes against this almighty regime"
But we don't live our lives
For Presidents, Gods or Queens
And we're not passive sheep
And our fleeces are not white
'Cos the black sheep in the system
They disappear at night

In a factory worked a man
Who was conditioned to obey
To respect his so called superiors
And collect his weekly pay
A mind that had no function
And a face etched out in grief
But he needed money to be free
And he stuck with that belief
And they were singing -

"No one goes against this almighty regime"
But we don't live our lives
For Presidents, Gods or Queens
And we're not passive sheep
And our fleeces are not white
'Cos the black sheep in the system
They disappear at night

In a playground I watched some children
Who we're playing games of war
And one amongst their number
Asked me "What the fuck are we fighting for?"
He stood upon the tarmac
Where his friends they fell and died
Then the good guys all rose up again
And the leader he replied
And they were singing -

"No one goes against this almighty regime"
But we don't live our lives
For Presidents, Gods or Queens
And we're not passive sheep
And our fleeces are not white
'Cos the black sheep in the system
They disappear at night

No one goes against
No one goes against
No one goes against.
